Stravinsky was always obsessed with the music of the past, and when he sat down to write his ‘Dumbarton Oaks’, it was Bach’s music that was fizzing in his head.
In an ingenious programme, Benjamin Morrison, Liu-Yi Retallick and Bede Hanley have paired two of Bach’s most beloved concertos with Stravinsky’s sparkling tributes to his great predecessor.
